About Me
I'm thrilled to be a part of the Anderson Mill Elementary community! My husband and I recently moved from Madison, Wisconsin. While living in Madison, I received a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin.
I'm entering my 8th year in the education field. Prior to being an instructional coach at Anderson Mill Elementary, I've had experience as a special education teacher at Dripping Springs Elementary, a 4th & 5th grade multi-age team teacher, a 2nd grade teacher, and a special education teacher (grades PreK - 5th). As an instructional coach, I am looking forward to collaborating with teachers and partnering with parents to meet children's individual needs. Whether it is hiking, bicycling, kayaking, playing flag football, or volleyball, I enjoy spending as much time as I can outdoors. When I'm not enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, you'll find me in a café with a coffee and a book in hand. |
Educational Philosophy
|
I am committed to partnering with teachers, families, and community members to build a strong educational foundation. I believe fostering a safe, positive learning environment is essential when nurturing the young minds of our future, and as an educator, I will create a classroom community that is built on trust, respect, and a passion for learning. To accomplish this, we as a community, must respect and value students’ cultural background and language. I believe how we choose to communicate about our students and school can be influential; therefore, our conversations should be asset based and focused on what each can provide. Most importantly, it is my belief that all students are capable of meeting high expectations and that all students need to be engaged in authentic and rigorous curriculum to promote inquiry and perseverance.
